Effects of Solar Power

The Sun is the greatest and biggest star of our solar system. Once upon a time people use to worship Sun as God. The religion Zorastranianism followed by the Parsi community worship Sun as the giver of life on earth.

It is only recently that the Sun’s power has been found to be useful in many ways. The power of solar is still being researched and extensive work is going on in this field. This alternative energy which is got from the Sun can be used to light homes, offices and a whole town. United States government offices are planning to convert many of their office buildings to be powered by solar energy.

There are many houses and residential areas in California, Australia and India which are using the power of solar. The general doubt which clouds the peoples mind is how to have solar power at night. Though after sunset the solar energy cannot be obtained, the power can be stored in day time itself. The stored power can be utilized for the night in heating systems and water and lighting. The photovoltaic cells can store up to a maximum for overnight use.

The effects of power solar are now made aware to a limited audience. If enough awareness is created and the public are educated about the advantages of power solar then oil consumption will reduce and pollution will also reduce to a great extent.

Another effect of solar power is they are noise free and can lasts for a very long time. The solar panels which are used to grab the heat from the sun and store it is easy to maintain and can be used by everyone.

Agriculture and farming is another major sector dependent on the power of solar. First and foremost the barns and buildings can be built in such a way that enough sunlight comes into them. Secondly for livestock lot of power is used to have steady heating through skylights. This can be done using solar power, considerably bringing down the cost of fuel and electricity bills.

The amount of energy from the sun that reaches Earth each day is enormous. All the energy stored in Earth’s reserves of coal, oil, and natural gas is equal to the energy in just 20 days of sunshine. While desert areas such as Arizona and Nevada get more sun than other parts of the United States, most areas receive enough sunshine to make solar power practical.

In Africa the use of solar power is slowly picking up. Using tractors, pump sets and other machinery that require fuel are now switching over to solar power. Farmers and workers say that their eyes used to burn while using kerosene oil lamps, but now are trouble free using solar power. The African government which is having a shortage of electric power supply to remote villages finds the power of solar a boon to mankind.
Nature has its own way of showering humans with all its resources. Only we should be prudent enough to capitalize on it.
